António has long recognized the quiet strength and untapped potential of the Bairrada farming community – a region rich in tradition yet too often overlooked on the world stage. Witnessing the challenges faced by local growers firsthand, he envisioned a way to bring enduring recognition to their work. Through the Amalia Vineyard Alliance, António’s mission is to uplift these farmers by sharing Bairrada’s true treasure: Espumante, the world-class Portuguese sparkling wines that reflect the character of the land and the people who shape it.

In the heart of Portugal’s countryside, Quinta de São Roque is more than a vineyard: it’s a living story, shaped by generations who worked this land before us. Here, the spirit that defines Amalia Vineyard Alliance was born, and new chapters are about to begin. Soon, we’ll open our hospitality and tasting center, where visitors can feel our essence: feet on the ground, dust on our boots, and soul in every glass.
